The department of Prof. Dr. H. Dosch (Max-Planck-Institute for
Metals Research, Stuttgart Germany) invites applications for a
Postdoctoral Scientist position for the project:
"Materials Research at the New Neutron Source FRM-II"
The succesfull candidate will join a new Max-Planck research team
and perform scientific research in the field of neutron/x-ray
reflectometry at neutron and synchrotron facilities worldwide
and support construction and operation of the
Materials-Science Reflectometer at the FRM-II in Garching/Munich.
The new combined neutron/X-ray reflectometer will provide the
infrastructure for state of the art polarized neutron reflectivity
experiments with the neutron resonance spin echo technique as an
important option. Simultaneous neutron and X-ray experiments will
allow to collect unique data sets.
Background: PhD in physics, materials science, or related field.
Salary level: BAT II a
Starting date: May 2002 (or later).
Duration of the appointment: December 2005.
